About This Spot
Stepping into Lizzie's Cafe is like finding a quiet pause amid Brighton's lively rhythm—a warm, unassuming haven where the hum of casual conversation blends seamlessly with the comforting aroma of home-cooked fare. For those who prefer a breath of fresh air, the outdoor seating offers a small, peaceful retreat amid the street’s busyness, perfect for savoring the sun or watching the world drift by.
At Lizzie’s, food is served without fuss, made with care and straightforward goodness that echoes the friendly spirit of the place. Whether it’s the freshly cooked breakfast plates that arrive with still-warm toast, enticing with vibrant flavour and honest satisfaction, or the hearty lunches that feel like a comforting hand on a bustling day, every dish is a quiet nod to classic, well-loved recipes. The drinks menu complements this simplicity, from rich, robust coffees like a well-pulled Long Black to cooling fruit juices that refresh without ceremony.
This is the kind of cafe where the usual rush softens into a moment of connection—whether between the attentive staff and their regulars or new visitors discovering a dependable retreat. It’s the subtle details—the warmth of genuine service, the familiarity kindled over shared meals, and the thoughtful balance of flavours—that make Lizzie’s resonate beyond just a quick bite.

An irritating issue I have found myself in in Brighton was to find a cafe providing a delicious breakfast for good value. Well Lizzie's Cafe has resolved this issue for me. Their breakfasts are delicious and freshly cooked with a very reasonable price. Their breakfasts are full of vibrant flavours and they serve your toast a few minutes before your breakfast so you are not left starving for too long. The atmosphere is cosy and wholesome which adds to your experience. Highly recommend for anyone who has been lacking a breakfast cafe in their local area!

A hidden gem in the busy streets of Brighton. Food was good, staff were friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. If I lived in Brighton I'd be here every week. Next time I'm nearby I'll definitely pop in again for breakfast.

I've been visiting this part of Brighton for more than 10 years since our daughter moved here and we visit as much as we can. A cooked breakfast at least once per trip just had to be done and I've been all over the city and trawled reviews looking for the perfect place but never found it - until now. This is far and away the nearest place but for some reason it just hadn't registered before and as it hadn't shown up on review sites, or not prominently, I overlooked it. Good fresh ingredients, complete honesty in the sourcing and cooking and pretty much everything just right. Fresh griddled mushrooms and tomatoes, seriously good bubble & squeak and a strong coffee shot with a jug of hot water so you can have it as strong as you like. Prepared and served by people who care - I don't understand the poor reviews but am glad those miserable people weren't there when we visited.

Usual range of breakfast and British fare. All cooked well with indoor or outdoor seating. Beware the resident seagull who stares at your food through the window, he hasn't worked out how to open it yet, but give him time......
